The Canon Pixma TR8620 ($179.99) is an inkjet all-in-one with office features. It has a 20-page automated document feeder (ADF), a duplexer for two-sided printing, and 2 paper trays for maintaining 2 kinds of paper at the ready.

Unlike many of the best all-in-one printers, the TR8620 uses 5 ink cartridges, with 2 kinds of black: one for documents (pigment-based) and the other for shiny photo prints (dye-based). The other 3 inks are the standard cyan, magenta, and yellow.

The TR8620 also has a duplexer for two-sided printing and supports wise home integration with Amazon.com Alexa and Msn, and yahoo Aide. We suched it a lot and called it among the best printers in our 2021 Tom's Guide Honors.

The TR8620 has a giant 4.3-inch color touchscreen on its control board, joints 90 levels upward. The procedure has no physical switches (just the power button). However, I found the touchscreen receptive and the menus user-friendly to browse. Near the bottom left of the front panel is an SD card port, so you can print straight from a camera's sd card.

The primary paper cassette and back paper tray can stand up to 100 sheets. The rear paper tray, which should be used for photo prints, can stand up to 20 sheets of photo paper. The paper cassette rests near the bottom of the unit, beneath the output tray.

To use the ADF atop the unit, you open up the cover, which joints outward to function as a paper input support. The TR8620 has a duplexer for two-sided printing, but automated two-sided scanning isn't sustained. To earn duplicates or checks of a two-sided document, you'll need to run the paper through the ADF two times, scanning one side each time. The LCD offers visuals to ensure you place the form correctly to provide an effective scan of the second side.

Using its ADF, the TR8620 duplicated a five-page text document in 45 secs or 6.7 ppm. The Brother MFC-J995DW was slightly much faster, at 7 ppm.

The TR8620 doesn't offer automated duplex scanning and copying. Instead, it provides manual duplex copying and scanning, where the user twice places the document in the ADF for each side. It is easy to follow the on-screen LCD instructions, which show you how to orient the paper, so the second scan is driven correctly.

The Pixma TR8620 duplicated a 10-page text document (5 double-sheets) in 5 mins, or 2 ppm, not checking the moment it required to reinsert the paper in the ADF. The Brother MFC-J805DW, which offers automated duplex copying, was significantly much faster, producing two-sided text duplicates at 3.1 ppm.

The TR8620 was much faster than the average at scanning color pictures and documents. It checked an 8-by-10 photo and conserved it as a 600 dpi JPEG in 59 secs, much faster than the average of 65.8 secs. Comparative, the Canon TS9120 and Brother MFC-J995DW were significantly much quicker, at 37.8 and 38.5 secs, specifically.

The same held true of black-and-white scanning to PDF style at 300 dpi. The TR8620 caught a scan in 8.8 secs, much faster than the average of 11 secs. The Canon TS9120 made the same scan in 7.7 secs.

The TR8620 offers high-quality print quality, and adequately dark printing text. The sides appear relatively sharp, although the letterforms could be sleeker. Color videos are attractive, with accurate shades and structures, although some mild banding was noticeable in dark locations.
