HP DesignJet Studio 24-in Printer Review

The HP DesignJet Studio is a simple-to-use, low-volume large, style inkjet printer (opens up in new tab) targeted at the home or small workplace where its smart design and small impact will be valued.

HP currently has 3 separate lines of DesignJet plotters; the DesignJet Studio is the more expensive option. It prints much faster than the entry-level T200 Collection, and unlike the step-up T600 Collection, the Studio comes with a stand, incorporated bib, and an exceptional white finish.

The premium DesignJet Studio printers are available in 2 dimensions, with the bigger of both able to handle 36-inch rolls of paper. The model evaluated here's the HP DesignJet Studio 24 which can take all paper dimensions up to a 24-inch roll and comes with a faux timber top panel. And if that is different from your design, an or else similar model is available with a steel top panel. These premium models are affordable at about £1,500 (US$1,849, AU$2,685).

Design and develop

HP claims the DesignJet Studio 24 is the tiniest large-style printer with an incorporated stand. It is also the best looking. Being intended primarily for developers and architects, for which aesthetics are essential, HP plainly invested some time in developing something that would undoubtedly appear appropriate in a design studio or office. The matt white plastic and blonde wood-effect finish are much better than the average workplace plotter.

The stand, made of hollow steel tubes and plastic fabric, is provided as standard. You can loosen and separate the printer to place it on a table, but the simple stand offers its purpose very well. It elevates the printer conveniently midsection elevation, holds it shake stable, and provides a practical rack beneath to store your published scrolls.

A front panel listed below the paper-out port bars is available to reveal the 4 inkjet cartridges, while another flap, in addition to the printer, gives access to the pin where you can load a 24-inch roll of paper.

At the back are links for an Ethernet cable television, USB information cable,, and mains cable television. An automated sheet feeder sticks up at the printer's rear and approves A4 and A3-sized paper.

The feed capture is a bar you take out from the stand, which unrolls an area of the canvas-like fabric to take the published paper as it arises. It will pull back nicely after use by a springtime system. It is all very well considered.

HP says this is ‘the first net carbon neutral HP DesignJet plotter,' which is an action in the proper instructions, and it's made from 10% reused plastic, which seems like hardly any. The invested inkjet cartridges can be returned for reusing, but we would certainly prefer to see HP go further and switch the wasteful cartridges for bottled ink.
